Purpose

The Astra R-Nesting software is designed for automatic nesting of sheet materials and can be used for nesting wood chipboard, metal, glass, plastic materials etc. The program is a flexible and powerful tool of a production engineer, which allows considerable quality increasing and shortens time for nesting plans preparation.

User-friendliness of the software is presented by possibility of quick familiarization and convenient work with menu commands, toolbars and multiwindow interface.

Functionality

The Astra R-Nesting software provides input and filing of information about orders and materials, automatic and interactive generation of nesting plans, calculation, filing and registration of utilizable rests, nesting plans and specifications printing-out.

During input of data about parts and materials, their quantity, dimensions, thickness, fiber direction and type of material are to be indicated. When generating an order of parts of different thickness or material, the program selects the corresponding sheets and carries out nesting automatically. A significant peculiarity of basic data input is use of alphanumeric codes for parts and a name of part-component of an order, which conforms to its real place in design documentation. The software allows creating a library of standard articles and using it further when generating orders.

For parts and articles, edges to be glued over can be indicated. At that, any number of edging materials is supported. Input information is aslo used for calculations of cost and number of material per order.

Automatic nesting is carried out taking into consideration technological and organizational parameters of production. Variable parameters allow setting: width of cut, edging, through cuts, type of nesting, minimum space between saws, etc.

For manual formatting of nesting plans there exists a number of functions for quick and accurate editing: arrangement of parts within a cut width, aligning, shifting, etc, at that performed commands can be cancelled, which returns nesting plans to the previous state, and also scaling of document windows. When editing directly on a nesting plan, properties of parts can be changed: length, width and fiber direction, to make arrangement the most compact.

Calculation of rests can be done both automatically and in a dialog mode. Depending on set parameters, rests can be calculated automatically in the subsequent orders as well. When working with a list of rests, they can be added, deleted, sorted or filtered by any feature: dimensions, material, fiber.

For each nesting plan a set of technological documentation is formed - a plan and specification, including necessary information for manufacturing parts and control of carried out works. Nesting plans can be printed out in any scale set by a user, with any sheet orientation. You can print out several nesting plans on one paper sheet also. Moreover, the following documentation is prepared: order specification, list of materials available, edging specification, invoice for the works carried out and materials per order, labels for parts.

The software provides analytic functions as for materials purchase planning.
